In celebration of International Girls in ICT Day, YCDI presents #iamWITy.

 

#iamWITy is a tech immersive competition for high school and university female students who will come together in teams to create a solution around this year’s theme:

DIGITAL INCLUSION USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
 

The team participants will have a unique opportunity to have a mentor to support their ideation alongside weekly online workshops,over a four week period, between March 23- April 17, 2020 in preparation for the competition finals on April 23, 2020.

This year's workshops will be focusing on 4 main areas

  • What is International Women’s Day ?
    International Girls in ICT Day is an initiative, backed by ITU Member States, to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider studies and careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies.
  • What does #iamWITy mean?
    I am a Woman in Tech
  • Can I still participate if I have no experience in AI or IT in general ?
    Yes,You can participate in the four week workshop series and our breakout sessions on the day.
  • What is Digital Inclusion?
    Digital Inclusion is about empowering all people – regardless of gender, age, ability, or location – to equally benefit from the opportunities offered by ICTs.
  • What is Artificial Intelligence?
    Artificial intelligence (AI) is an area of computer science that emphasizes the creation of intelligent machines that work and react like humans.
  • What Learning workshops will be included?
    Image Recognition, Chatbot, Blockchain and Design Learning
  • Can more than one team enter per school?
    Yes but a maximum of three teams per school.
