About the Event
Youth Can Do I.T (YCDI) will be celebrating Digital Learning Day on Saturday, February 25. We're reaching out to invite your 1st - 4th formers to participate in this virtual celebration on the effective use of digital tools. Interested students can have their parents complete the registration form.
During the event, we will be unveiling our new Digital Makerspace -- an interactive and immersive 3D experience that represents our foray into the metaverse. Our participants will have the opportunity to explore the space through hands-on activities, learn more about YCDI, and share with us their thoughts on the emerging VR technology known as the metaverse.
Additionally, interested students will have the option to participate in a focus group to help us better appreciate their understanding of the metaverse and how they think it can and should be used among persons their age. The feedback gathered from the focus group will inform the design for Project Amplify, a curriculum on ethics in the metaverse in partnership with Jesus College at Oxford. Project Amplify will be open to high school students in Jamaica.
We are inviting 1st-4th form students to participate in our DLD celebrations and our focus group. Spaces are limited and so we would be grateful if you could encourage students to sign up as soon as possible for the event. The registration link can be found ib this page.
Feel free to contact us with any questions at hello@ycdi.io or via the Live Chat on our website.
Best regards,
The YCDI Team
