YCDI Pep Talks - Prep For Pep

YCDI PEP Talks is an educational experience for Grade 5 students to learn about technology by creating animated games or stories that will prepare them for PEP.

 

After learning the fundamentals of Scratch Programming the students will go through the process of creating their own game or storyline based off of a PEP topic.

Social Good Summer Camps

The YCDI Summer Camp is a 2-week summer camp where the students will have an intensive, hands-on experience of emulating a social enterprise to solve or raise awareness about social issues in Jamaica. The participants will be broken into teams/departments in the company based on their career interest. Each team will be provided with a mini-deliverable that will be regarded as their contribution to the overall company.

Women In Tech Programme

The Women in IT programme is the mainstay of the YCDI programme. This yearlong series of events started in April 2018 on International Girls in ICT Day with the aim of exposing girls to the fastest growing industry in the world and empowering them to take a more active approach to their goals and dreams. The programme ends with a
gala on International Women’s Day.

YCDI Ambassadors Programme

The YCDI Ambassador program is a network of passionate students and young professionals who are dedicated to using technology and strengths based initiatives to empower the youth. YCDI ambassadors contribute their time and talents to supporting the projects and ventures of YCDI. Our Ambassadors are an incredible community of passionate techies (and non-techies) who strongly believe that when it comes to creating positive change in this world “You(th) Can Do It!”. 

Haiti Women's Mentorship Programme

Youth Can Do IT has partnered with “Going Global: Digital Jobs and Gender in Haiti”, a research initiative that seeks to increase women's access to employment in Haiti by building digital capacities in the field of Information Technology. The project will assist 300 young women in Haiti between 2018 and 2019 in securing online employment opportunities in overseas markets.
